Hey fitness nerds!

Thank you all {{active_subscriber_count}} of you!

Today's edition is different. No weekly roundup. No article breakdown. Just one thing.

We've been building something for months. And now we need your help to break it.

Read below!

IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES WE WILL COVER:

Weekly Insights:

  • BusyBody Beta: 50 Spots.

BusyBody Beta: 50 Spots.

Here's the truth.

I've spent the last year watching people struggle with the same problems over and over. They want to get healthier but don't know where to start. They try counting calories and quit after three days because it's tedious. They Google "how much protein should I eat" and get seventeen contradicting answers.

So we built an app that fixes this.

BusyBody is a health and fitness app that puts a personal trainer, a nutritionist, and a calorie tracker in your pocket. And right now, we need 50 beta testers to use it, push it, and tell us everything that's wrong with it.

This is what you get:

We create your account. We send you instructions on how to access the app. You get a screen recording walkthrough so you know exactly what you're looking at before you even open it.

You get to keep your beta access even after we officially launch. As long as you use the app regularly and send us bugs and suggestions, you keep it for free. Not a trial. Not a limited version. The full app.

We'll also set up a group chat with all 50 testers at some point. First, so you lot can connect with each other. Second, so you have a direct line to us. No support tickets. No waiting 48 hours for a reply. Just message us.

What we expect from you:

Use the app. Actually use it. Log your food, try every feature, and when something breaks or feels off, tell us. We also expect an honest review when the time comes.

This is a real exchange. You get a free app. We get real feedback that makes it better for everyone.

At this moment, it is only for iPhones

The form takes two minutes. We'll be sending out access emails over the next two days as we select testers.

What the app actually does

Six screens. Each one built to solve a specific problem.

The Dashboard. This is your home base. Log your weight, check your progress photos side by side, see your daily steps, track your water intake, and watch your logging streaks build up. Everything you need to see at a glance without digging through menus.

The Calorie Log. Search over 10 million foods and log them in seconds. Add your exercises too. The database is massive, so whether you're eating a banana or some obscure protein bar from Tesco, it's in there.

Snap and Log. From Calorie Log you can access Picture to Calorie screen. This is the one I'm most excited about. Take a photo of your food and get an instant calorie estimate. No searching. No weighing. No typing "grilled chicken breast 150g" into a tiny search bar. Just point, snap, done. This alone makes calorie counting something you'll actually stick with. You can also take a picture and then log it after from the library

Your Pocket Expert. Think of it as having a personal trainer and a nutritionist available 24/7. Ask it anything. Get meal plans built around what you actually like eating. Get workout programmes tailored to your level. Get supplement guidance. Get answers to the weird health questions you've been meaning to ask but never got around to.

Here's what makes this different from generic advice you find online. Our system is trained on real medical knowledge and hundreds of consultations we've had with actual clients. It knows what works because it's learned from people who've actually done it. It doesn't guess. It draws from real results.

On top of that, it has complete insight in what you have logged before, your progress, your health goals, and your exercise goals. It helps you work towards them.

The Menu Scanner (not a screen, but my favourite function of the PT chat). You're at a restaurant. You have no idea what fits your macros. Take a photo of the menu and get instant suggestions for what to order based on what you've already eaten that day. Eating out stops being a cheat day by default.

The Workout Screen. Search exercises, add them to your current workout, and build your own training split. Whether you're following a programme or building one from scratch, it's all in one place.

This app is especially powerful if you're just starting out. Getting into fitness is overwhelming. There are a million programmes, a million diets, a million opinions. BusyBody cuts through all of that and gives you one clear, personalised path based on what actually works.

Why tracking changes everything (even if you hate the idea)

I want to talk about something that took me embarrassingly long to figure out.

When I was in medical school, I was the classic case of "knows the theory, ignores the practice." I could tell you exactly how caloric surplus works, explain gluconeogenesis in detail, lecture about protein synthesis for an hour. And then I'd eat whatever the hospital canteen had because I was too wrecked to think about it.

I wasn't unhealthy. But I wasn't where I wanted to be either. I was stuck in that frustrating middle ground where you look okay but feel average.

The thing that changed it wasn't a new programme or a new diet. It was measuring.

I started logging food. Not obsessively. Not weighing every grain of rice. Just getting a rough picture of what was actually going in. And within two weeks I realised I was eating about 40% more carbs than I thought and about 30% less protein than I needed.

I was a doctor who didn't know what he was eating.

That's when it clicked. The gap between what you think you're doing and what you're actually doing is where all the frustration lives.

Here's what the research consistently shows, and what I've seen with every client I've worked with.

If your goal is fat loss, tracking creates awareness that no amount of "eating clean" can match. Most people underestimate their calorie intake by 30 to 50 percent. That's not a willpower problem. That's an information problem. You can't out discipline a blind spot. When you see the numbers, the adjustments become obvious. You don't need to starve yourself. You need to see where the excess is hiding.

If your goal is building strength, progressive overload only works if you know what you lifted last time. Logging your workouts means you never walk into the gym guessing. You know exactly what you need to beat. Strength gains come from consistency and small incremental increases, and both require a record.

If your goal is just maintaining, tracking is even more valuable than people realise. Maintenance is where most people quietly drift. You stop paying attention, and six months later you're 5kg heavier wondering what happened. A quick daily check in keeps drift from becoming a problem.

The point isn't perfection. The point is awareness.

The people who get results, whether they want to lose 20kg or just feel better in their clothes, are the ones who know their numbers. Not because they're obsessive. Because they're informed.

That's exactly what we built BusyBody to do. Make the tracking so fast and so effortless that you actually do it. Snap a photo. Thirty seconds. Done.

No willpower required. Just a phone and a plate of food.

A note on bugs (because there will be plenty)

This is a beta. That means things will break.

Buttons might not work. Screens might load slowly. The calorie estimates might occasionally think your salad is a pizza. We know.

That's literally why we need you. Every bug you find is one less bug that exists when we launch publicly. Every suggestion you make shapes what this app becomes.

There are 50 spots because we want this to be a tight group. We want to know your names, hear your feedback directly, and build this thing together.

If you don't get picked

Don't sweat it.

When we launch publicly, newsletter readers get first access and the best deal we'll ever offer. No one else will get this price. Not social media followers. Not people who find us through the app store. Just you.

So stay subscribed. That launch email is coming, and you'll want to be here for it.
